Andrew Turner
General Manager, Softlines

Andrew Turner is the General Manager for Amazon Canada’s Softlines business, with executive responsibility for the overall management, operation, and growth of product categories including clothing, shoes, jewelry, watches and luggage.

Andrew has been with Amazon for three years, joining after seven years at Eddie Bauer, where he led the product creation teams for all outerwear, activewear, and gear, including the launch of First Ascent, a high-performance line of technical apparel and gear for mountaineering and skiing. Before Eddie Bauer, Andrew founded Workshop Shirt Company, an online and direct-seller of custom-made men’s dress shirts, and he began his career at Bain & Company, a strategy consulting firm.

Originally from Chicago (and a die-hard Cubs and Blackhawks fan), Andrew holds an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and a Bachelors with Distinction in Economics and English Language & Literature from the University of Michigan.

Anne Donohoe

Anne joined MEC as Chief Marketing Officer in January 2013 and is responsible for marketing, communications, community investment and brand engagement strategies. Anne supports the ongoing evolution of the iconic MEC brand, extending MEC's unique retail offering to a growing number of members and inspiring Canadians to lead active lifestyles outside.

Anne has over 20 years of experience in marketing communications, starting at Harlequin Enterprises, where she became passionate about direct to consumer marketing and e-commerce. Anne joined INTRAWEST to develop their customer relationship marketing capabilities across North America, and then moved to Singapore, where she worked with Interbrand, as the Director of Brand Strategy for South East Asia. Following her years overseas, Anne is now treasuring her time at home in Vancouver, and is introducing her two daughters to outdoor fun in the nearby parks, mountains, and ocean.

Nicole Tapscott

Nicole Tapscott is General Manager of Casper, Canada. She leads the growth strategy of Casper's largest market outside of the US, splitting her time between Casper's headquarters in New York City and her hometown, Toronto.

Prior to joining Casper, Nicole was Director of Partnership Marketing at Relationship Science, and Head of New Media and Collaborative Platforms at the World Economic Forum. She began her career consulting to major retail organizations at Accenture, and led international teams to identify new partnerships and marketing opportunities in lead generation, customer retention, and community engagement.

In 2012, Nicole received her MBA from INSEAD.

Andrew Go joined The Home Depot Canada in 2016 as Director, e-Commerce and was recently promoted to Senior Director, e-Commerce and Advertising. In this role, Andrew is responsible for overseeing and developing the company’s e-commerce platform, which also includes leading the strategic vision of the interconnected customer experience, data analytics, and digital marketing.

Andrew is an accomplished executive operator who possesses a unique mix of strategic, operating, and entrepreneurial skills, which were refined in Toronto, London, and Mumbai. He has cultivated expertise in building new business and empowering multi-disciplinary teams to innovate and deliver results. Prior to joining The Home Depot Canada, Andrew was the Vice President, Strategic Initiatives for the Star Media Group, as well as Vice President, Digital Commerce for Metroland Media Group.

Andrew holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, and continues to be involved with the school as an Alumni Mentor. His community involvement also includes serving as a director on the board of the Nikkei Voice, and as a Strategic Business Advisor at the Ryerson DMZ. Andrew is also an advisor for two innovative startups, and, both of which provide elevated user experiences in digital health and beauty industries respectively.

Audrey Gauthier

After earning a masters in business, Audrey began her career in Ecommerce at La Vie En Rose. She joined the ALDO Group in 2013 as the Ecommerce Manager for their Little Burgundy division. Her omni-channel vision allowed her to quickly rise to the role of Marketing and Ecommerce Director in 2015, overseeing both digital and brick-and-mortar marketing, as well as managing a team of designers. She recently have been promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Ecommerce for Genesco who acquired the Little Burgundy division in December 2015.
Brendan Toupin

As Director of Retail eCommerce for Best Buy Canada, Brendan oversees the development and optimization of all aspects of the customer merchandising experience on Best Buy’s online platforms.

Having joined the company in 2014, Brendan brings with him over 10 years of retail experience, half of those as Director of Operations at the Brick, where he was responsible for overall store execution and merchandising. Brendan then took on the role of Director of Digital/eCommerce, where he was accountable for achieving online growth and profitability targets by focusing on category development, optimization of the site wide path to purchase, and overall digital strategy.

Brendan’s breadth of knowledge from both the physical and digital environments, passion for omnichannel retail, and ability to lead and inspire high performing, collaborative teams has contributed to the advancement and success of Best Buy’s Total Retail approach to providing customers a seamless experience, regardless of how they choose to shop.

Brendan serves digital business strategy professionals through his work at Forrester. He is an expert on eCommerce business, consumer behavior, and technology trends in the digital engagement space. He is also an authority on technology developments that affect both online and offline commerce industries, as well as vendors that help deliver today's leading strategies and tactics in digital excellence.

In his research, Brendan covers such consumer-oriented, cross-vertical topics as eCommerce trends, personalization, omnichannel, customer experience management best practices, engagement strategies, and conversion optimization. Brendan applies this knowledge to numerous industries and spends most of his time consulting with companies that are at the forefront of dealing with digital disruption.

Carly Steinberg
Director, Marketing

Carly joined in January 2017 as the Director of Marketing. She leads the content & community strategy, which spans blogs, videos, social media, and influencer and expert partnerships, and more. She also spearheads several other strategic projects including services, subscriptions, and brand partnerships. Last year, she redesigned and oversaw’s Sherway Gardens pop-up store and evaluated several other bricks & mortar locations and concepts.

Prior to joining, Carly worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company where she helped retail clients define and execute transformative strategies. She holds an MBA from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Catherine Laporte
Head of Marketing & eCommerce

Catherine Laporte joined the DAVIDsTEA team as Head of Marketing in August 2016.As such, she oversees the departments of Marketing, Public Relations, Field Marketing, Design, E-commerce, and Social Media, all while ensuring that the company’s strategic objectives are conveyed through the content marketing strategy. She continuously strives to improve brand and product awareness, to stimulatecustomer acquisition and to ensure brand consistency throughout all contact points. Formerly, she was Director of Marketing at Luxury Retreats. A brand image specialist, she has built a strong expertise in the retail industry in North America and in the United Kingdom.

Catherine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a specialization in Marketing from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. She started her career within the ALDO Group as a salesperson at an ALDO store and then quickly moved up the echelons by working in various marketing and management positions at the ALDO Group head office. Working in these positions allowed her to familiarize herself with all banners and to work on major projects such as the launch of both Locale and Little Burgundy in Canada, the development of Spring and Espace Little Burgundy’s magazines and the successful collaboration with the Canadian online retailer Frank + Oak.

Recognized for her creativity and her leadership, Catherine is also actively involved in the Montreal community as a member of the Young Associates of Montreal Opera.

Alanna Cantkier

In Alanna's current role, as National Director, Retail Leasing, for Canada, under the Real Estate Management Services Group (REMS), she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the retail leasing program for REMS' clients.  Alanna's provides strategic leadership to the retail portfolio.

Alanna brings over 20 years of focused retail leasing experience to Colliers International. She provides long-term strategic planning to retail leasing and knowledgeable direction for new development projects including working with construction project teams, overseeing tenant renewals, and developing relationships with retailers and brokers alike. Alanna also provides for business growth and expansion approaches to retailers on a multi-market level and assists in their understanding of an ever changing retail landscape.

Her strategy identifies current market and property conditions in order to value add through repositioning, re-leasing, re-development, management and marketing. 

Alanna is well experienced in a variety of retail assets; lifestyle, enclosed, community neighbourhood plazas, mixed use (retail/residential, retail/office) and power centers

Her previous experience also includes acting as Property Manager of more than 2 million square feet of a mixed asset portfolio.

Colin Picard is Director of Human Resources at Best Buy Canada. Having been with Best Buy for 12 years in a variety of HR and Operations roles, Colin began overseeing the human resources needs for the entire eCommerce and Digital departments in 2017. Colin leads a diverse team, including traditional human resources in the distribution centres, corporate human resources, and talent development coaches who facilitate the development and professional growth of employees in the absence of a traditional management structure, which is becoming increasingly obsolete in Agile environments. Colin is a key driver of the people components of Best Buy’s digital transformation and is passionate about leadership, especially in non-traditional structures. Looking forward, Colin is enthusiastic about the future of human resources for Best Buy as the organization continues to evolve its omnichannel platforms and capabilities.
Daryl Porter

Daryl started his career with Walmart Canada in 1995 as a store associate, and has been a student of retail ever since.  In 2003, he was promoted to Store Manager and later progressed to hold many single and multi-unit operational roles.  In February 2016, Daryl transitioned to the eCommerce business unit in the role of Vice-President, Omni Channel and Online Grocery.  He is currently responsible for advancing Walmart Canada’s digital efforts in the omni-channel space, as well as leading the team to develop and deploy the Online Grocery business across Canada. Daryl’s team has been responsible for innovations such as urban hub and spoke, mobile check-in, co-branded pickup and crowd-sourced home delivery.  He also leads Walmart Canada’s eCommerce acceleration strategy.

Daryl is proud to have served in the Canadian Forces Reserve.  He held the role of Infantry Sergeant and retired after 11 years.  He recently served for 3 years as President of the Lorne Scots Regimental Association and now sits on the Board of Directors of the Juno Beach Centre. Daryl earned his Masters of Business Administration in Executive Management at Royal Roads University in 2014.

A longstanding Cineplex executive, Fab Stanghieri is the Executive Vice President and General Manager, Cineplex Digital Media (CDM), a division of Cineplex. He is responsible for defining and executing the strategic direction of CDM, and leading the company’s focus on delivering its objectives to capitalize on the rapid growth of the digital-out-of-home industry, through the development of innovative products and solutions to new and existing customers, and through expansion into international markets.

Mr. Stanghieri has been part of CDM’s senior leadership team for seven years, most recently as the Senior Vice President, Business Development, Account Services and Marketing and prior to that was General Manager of Cineplex Digital Solutions before it became part CDM.

Since 1996, Mr. Stanghieri has grown his over 20 year career at Cineplex through various roles ranging from Business Development to Real Estate, most recently as Senior Vice President, Real Estate and Construction since January 2011, responsible for managing all aspects of corporate real estate and development, including the new theatre builds, acquisitions, dispositions, expansions, renovations, and lease administration.

Mr. Stanghieri is a member of the board of directors for the Motion Picture Theatre Association of Canada, the National Association of Theatre Owners, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Digital Place Based Advertising Association.

Before engaging in the journey to establish Golf Town Ltd.’s brand as Canada’s home of golf, Frederick led the Sport Chek digital marketing and eCommerce transformation as SVP of Marketing within the Canadian Tire Corporation. Prior to revolutionizing brands as a digital disruptor, Frederick’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to take part in two successful start-ups projects in Europe — one in eCommerce and another in media. 

Bryson Naef
Senior Merchant Account Executive

Bryson Naef has worked at PayPal in a variety of merchant services roles for over 5 years and is currently a Senior Merchant Account Executive at PayPal for North America.  He regularly works with merchants from Canada to help them process direct credit cards, Point of Sale, and PayPal payments on their websites and mobile apps.  Has experience working with Integration Engineers, Partner Teams, Vetting and Underwriting Teams to help merchants get approved and is very familiar with credit card processing fee structures, costs and assessments. 

Graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations in 2017.

Georgia Genovezos

Georgia is the Head of Ecommerce for Ardene where she leads the online experience for North America as well as social media and customer service.

Jenn Berg

Amit Goyal has been with Overstock for more than a decade, starting out his career as a senior software developer in 2006. He worked his way up to software development lead, director and then vice president before assuming his current role as senior vice president.

As a software developer, Goyal worked on building out fulfillment systems before moving on to director where he managed software technology for OLabs, Overstock’s emerging business incubator. After his transition to vice president of development, Goyal was responsible for managing product technology for website and mobile.

In his current positon as senior vice president of software engineering, Goyal oversees a team of more than 300 engineers leading the department in software engineering and architecture. Under his direction, Goyal’s teams have been behind the creation and implementation of technology including augmented reality, virtual reality and machine learning.

Wayne Pommen
President and CEO

Wayne Pommen is the President and CEO of PayBright, a provider of instant point-of-sale financing for Canadian consumers. Wayne also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Hudson’s Bay Company and IOU Financial. Wayne was previously a Principal at TorQuest Partners and a management consultant with Bain & Company in the U.K., U.S., and Canada. Wayne holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge.

James Connell
Vice President, E-Commerce and Marketing
As the Vice President, E-Commerce and Marketing, James is responsible for leading the marketing efforts at Roots with a focus on partnerships, loyalty, non-traditional and digital marketing. Additionally he is responsible for the company’s digital and integrated omni-channel commerce programs. He joined Roots 10+ years ago and has functioned in a number of roles within the organization primarily focused in the areas of digital commerce, marketing and direct to consumer sales.
His role in marketing at Roots and his passion for integrating digital technologies into marketing programs and physical stores have lead to Roots winning numerous awards and accolades including being nominated as a finalist for a Webby award in a category with brands like Google and Adobe. James has also spoken to audiences and industry journals worldwide on the topics of marketing, social media and online retail and co-authored a book published by Aspatore Books.

James Vause
Regional Director

James Vause is the Regional Director of Canada, and has been with TransPerfect since 2006. James has helped the company establish worldwide partnerships with an array of retail leaders including KOBO, Nike, Roots, and Target.

His passion for innovation and quality has been fostered through his time in the localization industry, as well as his experience advising tech starts-ups. James is also on the advisory board of HYR, a Toronto-based mobile app company that finds quality talent to fill shifts on demand.

Jaylone Lee

Jaylone has worked in the Canadian fashion apparel industry for over a dozen years, focusing exclusively on E-commerce since 2007.

She has held key roles in launching  and re-platforming E-commerce businesses, as well as in driving E-commerce success through storefront management and online marketing. 

A veteran of 10 E-commerce launches, she is currently leading the implementation of E-commerce in North America for BESTSELLER, a Danish apparel company with a wide portfolio of  fashion brands, including JACK & JONES, VERO MODA, ONLY, SELECTED, JUNAROSE, and Y.A.S. 

Johnny Basto

Johnny has been in the digital, CRM and email marketing space for over 10 years. He currently heads all email marketing initiatives for Indigo Books & Music Inc., which also includes the Chapters and Coles bookstore banners. Prior to Indigo, Johnny worked for Dell managing their consumer segment email program for over 4 years reporting into both the North American CRM group and separately to the marketing unit.

Email marketing is something Johnny is very passionate about because of its unique ability to help enrich a customer’s lifecycle for brands through meaningful and impactful communications. Johnny Russo joined Mark’s, one of the largest apparel retailers in Canada, as the Associate Vice President of Digital Marketing and Ecommerce in January 2016. Previous to joining the Mark’s team, Johnny worked at Bentley Leathers Inc. and was brought on to lead their Ecommerce and Digital Marketing. He was tasked with re-launching the new, fully responsive Bentley Ecommerce experience in May 2015. Prior to Bentley, Johnny worked in similar capacities for Mexx Canada and Buffalo David Bitton, overseeing everything from digital marketing, ecommerce, social media, operations, customer service, web design, and digital analytics.

Johnny has over 13 years of Digital Marketing and Ecommerce experience in the retail, manufacturing, mobile, and software sectors. Krista, and her team, have recently undergone a brand transition for Swimco with a huge focus on body confidence. Being beautiful isn’t about how you look, it’s about how you live. They are working to transform what it means to be a swimsuit model through using real people with really aspirational lives that are relatable. The team is focused on all customer touchpoints, but heavily focused on Instagram and a new eCommerce platform.

Throughout her experience in the cosmetics industry, as both a makeup artist and manager, Kristy oversaw event planning, inventory control, sales strategies, team building and training.  Relocating to Canada in 2003, Kristy shifted gears and worked in executive recruiting for a few years, but went back to sales and eventually became a VP of Marketing where she oversaw SEO, SEM, PPC, direct mail and email campaigns, lead generation, conversion, user experience and account management.  With this wide range of experience and skills she was ready to start something that would bring together her talents and be part of the sharing economy at the same time.  Along with her business partner, Rent frock Repeat came to life, allowing women all across Canada to RENT a new designer dress for a fraction of the retail cost.  Becoming an entrepreneur to a collaborative consumption business that disrupts the retail norm has taught Kristy countless new skills and lessons and gives her a chance to make an impact on women, the environment and the retail landscape.
